SCHIP
and COBRA Amendment
There are new laws requiring changes in cafeteria and self-funded plans. To
comply with the provisions of the Children’s Health Insurance Program
Reauthorization Act of 2009 (State Children's Health Insurance Program
(SCHIP)) and the COBRA provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment
Act of 2009 (ARRA), plan amendments may be necessary.
The IRS has established
a page that is updated with information on obtaining the COBRA reimbursement
and other related matters--click
here.
The DOL has a page with information and links to various items, including
model notices--click
here.
There is a free amendment for both provisions on the Sungard website--click
here.
